Paco Chicano was first established in 1987 by brothers Franck and Gilbert Ros. The Spanish origins of the two brothers inspired their designs. They were the first to advocate spiritual and human ethics on their clothing. In 1988, the main focus of the line became ecology and the fortification of nature and once again, Franck and Gilbert Ros proved to be innovative pioneering activists. In 1995, MTV used Paco Chicano as their global logo. Today, the collection remains inspired by the Spanish foundation and origin of Franck and Gilbert Ros. The images of hearts, flowers, amorous and religious symbols are secular metaphors of individual ideals for essential energy, freedom, harmony, and world peace. Their designs are everlasting classics that articulate the colors and ciphers of their culture. In November, 2007, Christian Audigier, a long time friend of the brothers, brought the Paco Chicano trademark under his creative tent and is infusing the line with his marketing genius to collaborate with the Ros brothers, now co-creative directors of the line, to take it to new heights. "I have long admired the Paco Chicano line and I am thrilled to be collaborating with my friends Franck and Gilbert Ros," stated Christian Audigier. "My vision for the line is to make it even more relevant for today and to make it the next de rigueur street wear for everyone, with a decidedly Latin spin." The new collection was debuted at the Christian Audigier pavilion at the Project Las Vegas Show

Paco Chicano as a brand is very much different to Christian Audigiers original designs. For this has very much the Italian vibe to it, including Raphaels Angels onto the template designs.
Effectively Audigier has attempted to attract a whole new target market for his new design resulting in a bigger customer sales basis, making his nickname 'le fiv' (the fast one) evident in the fashion world.
